HOUSE MANAGER FOR PROFESSIONAL VIP FAMILY IN MIAMI

 

  • Location: Miami, FL
  • Salary: $150,000 gross p.a. (depending on experience)

Job Overview:

The Chace People team is looking for an experienced and highly organised House Manager to manage the daily operations of a private household in Miami. This young, professional VIP family seeks a reliable and trusted gatekeeper who can also travel to their secondary residence in NYC as needed. Exceptional management skills and a proactive approach are essential to ensure the smooth running of their home.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Household & Property Management

  • Oversee and manage household staff, including housekeepers and a part-time cook.
  • Implement and maintain schedules, checklists for cleaning, maintenance, and household tasks.
  • Liaise between household staff and service providers (repairmen, contractors, landscapers).
  • Manage the household budget, including payroll for staff and tracking expenses.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of household supplies, food, beverages, and cleaning products.
  • Maintain records of household expenses and provide regular updates and reports as needed.
  • Regularly inspect the property to ensure everything is in working order and address any issues.
  • Maintain the pool, sauna, and theatre systems, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance of appliances, HVAC, and essential systems.
  • Ensure home security systems are operational and up to date.
  • Coordinate with security personnel to ensure the property and family’s safety.

 

Wardrobe & Personal Belongings Management

  • Organize and manage personal wardrobes, including seasonal clothing rotations.
  • Oversee laundry, dry cleaning, ironing, and garment repairs.
  • Maintain a log of high-value items such as designer clothing, shoes, and accessories.
  • Pack and unpack luggage for trips, ensuring all necessary items are included.

 

Wine Collection/Cellar Management & Event Planning

  • Organize and manage the wine cellar and wine storage areas, ensuring proper storage conditions.
  • Source and purchase wines, liaising with vendors and distributors as needed.
  • Plan and prepare for wine tastings and private events, coordinating with the cook.
  • Oversee visitor access and confidentiality for high-profile guests.
  • Liaise with caterers, florists, and entertainers for event requirements.
  • Ensure meals are prepared according to preferences of family and guests for special gatherings, coordinating with the cook.

 

Travel & Scheduling

  • Arrange personal and family travel, including flights, ground transportation, and accommodations.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained, cleaned, and ready for use.
  • Maintain a master calendar of personal and family schedules, coordinated with the Principals’ professional commitments.

 

Childcare & Family Support

  • Assist with coordination of family activities, school schedules, and transportation for children.
  • Oversee and coordinate with Nannies to ensure the playroom and children's areas are organized and clean.
  • Assist with birthday parties and family events involving the children.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Run personal errands, including picking up dry cleaning, shopping for household needs, etc.
  • Manage inventory and restock groceries to keep the kitchen stocked with essentials.
  • Handle mail, deliveries, and communication with external parties.

 

Requirements:

  • Must possess a driver’s license and personal vehicle.
  • Language: Fluency in English, and a minimum of a working knowledge of Spanish.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Discreet and proactive in managing the household and coordinating between family, staff, and vendors.
